In pandemic times of telepresences and social distancing, Live At Robert Johnson and Leipzig’s own Riotvan team up for a magical musical mission. Encompassed by the graphic design of Michael Satter & Panthera Krause, each of the five tracks has been created by teams representing both label crews and their environs, rendering a truly synergetic effort. A1 is Roman Flügel & Rebolledo producing deep and wide Star Stuff with arpeggiated bass riffs, haunting vocals and melody. A2 sees Jennifer Touch & Chinaski setting off on an electroid Synth-Pop trip, with crafty 1980s synths, drums and vocals. A3 is New Hook and Perel teaming up for a Cosmic Disco tinged track, featuring unique spanish-english vocals. The flipside kicks off with Fort Romeau & Panthera Krause on B1, heavily into a stereophonic and proper Italo soundscape. At Robert Johnson kicks off 2021 with a new cut above the rest thanks to Benjamin Fröhlich, who dons a cosmic Acid-to-Italo four-track EP. Whether „Club Fantasy“ insinuates the phantasy of clubbing in times of a pandemic shutdown in global club cultures, or a club by the name of it, lies within the ears of the listeners. Either way, Benjamin’s ties with the Robert Johnson club can be heard resonating throughout this fantastic EP.
Club Fantasy (Club Version) introduces a happy 303 reminiscent bouncy bassline, supported by relentless rim shots, fast-forwards the Club Version of the title track directly into the uplifting domains of well-established sounds. Sparse echoing vocal snippets, encouraging us to dance, and by the time the piano stabs finally kick in, it’s all hands up for your very own club phantasies.
Club Fantasy (Fantasy Version) boasts a less peaky signature, while working a more playful and driving treatment of the title track, supported by mellow strings, a harder kick and subtle room reverberation.
On the flip-side, Escape presents a warm, emotional and cinematic Italo soundscape, featuring floating arpeggios, which flash like coloured strobes in the dark.
Benjamin’s final track, Dream Machine, is a beautiful kaleidoscope of sounds, slightly more energetic yet moody, that is sure to catch everyone's ears on the dancefloor.
As a co-founder to Munich based record label Permanent Vacation, but also as a DJ and producer, Benjamin Fröhlich’s musical involvement traces back many years in the Cosmic Disco and Balearic scene, and into the networks of both Robert Johnson club and its label.

OUT NOW: Tobias Schmid - The FU EP (andmusic)
Tobias Schmid produced his latest work, “The FU EP” (AND23), during the first Corona lockdown. When pandemic control measures were announced, half of Audision’s team took it lightly and thought: “It's wonderful that this pandemic falls at a time when I'm settled down enough that I don’t have to worry about the price of a bottle of red wine anymore.” He paid a visit to Jaques’ wine depot and back at home put his feet up, cranked up the Netflix machine and let himself go for a few weeks. Another thought slowly developed, too: The pandemic might also fall at a time when you can buy clones of legendary drum machines and bass sequencers for less cash – a thought that instantly inspired him. He ordered everything he needed and later picked up the Thomann packages from his neighbour. Our hero soon realised, that no viral infection had yet set in, so nothing stood in the way of letting his ideas, beats and basslines flow freely. He disappeared into the studio...

This number refers to Studio 672 in Cologne, where the legendary Total Confusion clubnights took place. Hardcore Acid purists will probably shout: “Fake!” but are quickly hooked by the autumnal strings – a Mathew Jonson and Lawrence reference from the early 2000s.
A2: PVSHL-202
PVSHL-202 – is that a new drum machine’s name or a track from Aphex Twin’s lost hard disk? A Basic Channel-like dub, originally paired with a Hi-NRG bassline. The hihat work is self-quoting (well done, Audision). The track is packed with suspense – ideal for listening to while waiting for your PCR test result.
B1: Acid 672 (Tensnake Quarantine Remix)
It’s nice for Tobias that he isn’t the only one in quarantine. His buddy Marco Niemerski comes round for a glass of Bordeaux and delivers an alarmist-bouncing acid-stomper, where he filters out the bass line with a skill akin to top German virologist Christian Drosten who filters out those false positive results.
B2: Glimmer Schwarzes Kerosin
A sizzling-spherical minimal track with skilful frequency management in the style of GAS’ Zauberberg or Jan Jelinek's loop finding-jazz-records. It’s also a reference to the Augsburg former nightlife and the clubs that died with it.

Panthera Krause's latest and divinely titled album "It's a Business Doing Pleasure With You" is now a year old, but nonetheless still blissfully resonating. But the Riotvan headquarter still managed to gather a bunch of people with good prospects to live up to the job. And so they did. Find here an utmost pleasure providing remix package courtesy of: Rebolledo directing the arpeggio bliss of "Road To Arcadia" into even more club apt territories. Theo Kottis turning everybody's favorite "Birthday Club" into a more detailed and pad-saturated affair. Shubostar speeding up the rather downbeat Franko-Funk of "J'ai Envie De Toi" to a
bassline-driven groove monster. Fango taking in all the atmospheric quirkiness of "Redo Rdid" and processing it into an odd, yet charming floor-heater. And finally Peter Invasion & Gregor Habicht finding a deeper and more bass dominated interpretation of "Sledge Hammer".

'Hivernation Vol.4' is out now! The fourth installment closes the 'Hivernation' project, a compilation series from the label Hivern Discs by John Talabot conceived as a way of documenting music created during the lockdown caused by the coronavirus pandemic. For the last issue our Que Sakamoto together with NT Feat. 劇団 歴史新大陸 contributed a nice track with the wonderful title "Maketetamaruka" and it turns out to be a real secret weapon.
One more important thing: 'Hivernation' will remain a project exclusively for Bandcamp, which cannot be heard or acquired on any other platform.

Kasper Bjørkes making it a family affair as he invites Riotvan co-label honcho Panthera Krause to take on remix duties for his track Venetian Blinds. After Kaspar remixing Road To Arcadia from the Leipzig creative's latest album "It's A Business Doing Pleasure With You", Robert, Panthera Krause's real name, returns the favor and adds his discoid yet uplifting touch to the initially mentioned tune from his album Nothing Gold Can Stay. Bjørke's been supporting and playing Panthera Krause's music for a long time due to the fact that he “love[s] his playful spirit and anthem melodies in his production work.“ In the end Robert turned the slow burning rave track into “a genuine piece of pure peaktime joy with a sharp arpeggio baseline and fun 80s stabs“, Kasper says and remind him of Pump Up the Volume by M|A|R|R|S.

TORTURE THE ARTIST ART:CAST #85 BY PETER INVASION
The latest art:cast episode is a musical invasion by one of Leipzig's leading musical heads, namely by Peter Invasion. Peter firmly has things under control when it comes to one of Germany's aspiring clubs, the Institut fuer Zukunft, for which he's done the bookings. Besides Markus Krasselt, Peter Invasion's real name, is the co-label head of Riotvan, a label he founded in 2012, the label hosted the first two releases of Here Is Why, before it's become a familiar family affair as Panthera Krause joined Peter. From day one the label has served close artists as a platform to releases their (demanding and ambitious) music. Speaking of the latter for Peter Invasion's art:cast the artist provides his audience with exclusive and eclectic music, the first track for examples comes from Sexxy legs, Peter Invasion's partner, and also underlines his philosophy to keep his loved ones (musically) close.
However, the art:cast is not only a family affair but includes disco-ish, rock-ish and housey takes from producers that have been under Peter's radar for a moment or just popped up in his exclusive promo inbox. The result is a heterogenous homogenous composition: heterogenous because Peter draws on to various electronic sub-genres; homogenous because Peter smoothly mixes them so the musical borders soften – if they have ever existed in his world.

and versatility as a songwriter and producer, without ever showing off, but always inviting the listener and dancer into his very own space of lighthearted and wryly, yet passionately grooving understanding of electronic music. Once meeting all requirements of dancefloor-efficiency, another time spaced out into remote reverie, then again dropping lucid Pop-splendour and in the next minute descending into quirky tonal oddness. in „Sunset“ and more to a bright, vibrant and overly catchy manifest of an album that perpetually ensures utmost pleasure, doing business with this fella.

ESTHER SILEX IS FINALLY BACK THIS WINTER WITH HER 2ND RELEASE CALLED 'AYNI'
After her eclectic and widely successful first EP 'Pachamama' which she dropped a while ago seemingly out of nowhere on the lovely label 'Studio Barnhus', Esther Silex is finally back this winter with her 2nd release called 'Ayni'. During the process of creating these 2 beautifully powerful tracks she was inspired by the andean term of 'Ayni' which symbolises a form of sacred reciprocity. Ayni is the exchange of energy between humans, nature and the universe. The term represents the idea of giving and receiving and therefore growing together. It is a mirror of her reality. Esther's 2 tracks are supported by special remixes from David Hasert and Francesco Mami. The EP will be released next Friday, 15th of November on LIKE Records from Cologne, and is accompanied by a video which she shot in cooperation with her crew in Berlin. The cover is an artwork by the fantastic twins Gert & Uwe Tobias. Together we grow!

The 11-track LP, which will come out on April 26 via tastemaking label Hafendisko, is the result of a year-long production process, marked by total creative freedom in the studio.
With a total of eight LPs, four of which were released under his Sid Le Rock moniker, it’s clear that albums are the Berlin-based producer, live act, DJ and vocalist’s preferred form of expression.
“I’m an album artist. I prefer the concept of an album, because it’s more intertwined with all your influences, your musical goals and directions, and you can get away with a lot more experimenting, expression and explorations than you can with an EP. EPs for me are foreplay,” he explains.
With a total running time of 60 minutes, Scenic Route is a musical journey through a wide palette of sounds, ranging from dancefloor tracks ‘Kismet’ and ‘Morgenfrisk’, electro masterpieces ‘Speak Sweetly’ and ‘Hiraeth’, vocal-heavy indie electronica gems ‘Slowpoke’ and ‘First Kiss’, and cinematic beauties like ‘Waldeinsamkeit’.
With a brand new album, a new live show and a tour on the horizon, it’s clear we’re yet to see what Sid Le Rock is truly capable of.

We are happy to announce that no one else then our dearest Sedef Adasi joins the BLITZ Music Club crew and become a resident in one of the best clubs in germany. In the past months the young girl from Augsburg convinced with her diverse and captivating sets. Sedef bounces in between euphoric Techno, ruff House classics, space Disco and tough electro with elegance and ease. Her crowding reading is top notch, no wonder, as you can really feel how she interacts with the people in the club out of pure love.
The new resident of the famous club in munich also has lots of experience as promoter. With Hamam Nights, a monthly club night taking place at City Club in Augsburg, she has fostered a welcoming home for the likes of DJ Stingray, Tama Sumo or Boris, thereby taking the nightlifes’ choices’ of the city to a whole new level. In May, Sedef played for Amsterdam’s top radio choice Red Light. The next chapter is given with the next instalment for our Blitzcast series, she especially curated for her resident announcement. Watch out for her playing Panorama Bar on September 29th as well as her next gig at Blitz Club (w/Kink Live!) on October 26th.

DJ KOZE ANNOUNCES NEW ALBUM "KNOCK KNOCK"
Like all DJ Koze records, Knock Knock exists outside of trend and influence. In fact, it's a step further beyond: absolutely every single thing here, from grooves to voices to handclaps, is otherworldly and unique. Which is not to say it is utterly alien abstraction, mind. There is still disco, there is still soul, there is still techno, there is still hip hop, there is still psychedelia – there are even wafts of easy listening, lost crackly thriftstore record memories and... sort of... indie rock – but though it may sound familiar, it never does what your brain thinks it's going to do.
Likewise with the voices. More than ever before on Koze's records, there are fascinating, individualist – and well-known – voices through out Knock Knock but again, each of them is rendered strange, drawn into a different reality Bon Iver's ghostly hymnals on “Bonfire” are very recognisably Bon Iver, but the way they twist and merge with synthetic sounds until choir and computer are writhing around one another in bliss are something else. The ever-unique Róisín Murphy, on two stunning tracks, becomes a cyborg funk diva. Speech from Arrested Development delivers luscious and lazy R&B-funk on “Colors of Autumn”, but Koze's warping bass, dubwise echo and alien nature sounds take it to an alternate dimension tropical landscape. Kurt Wagner of Lambchop is a vocoder bohemian, Sophia Kennedy is a sci-fi Weimar cabaret star, José Gonzalez a holographic projection from an old film of South Sea Islands... on it goes, nothing is real, everyone is an inhabitant of Koze-world.
And that's what is crucial here. Koze is a world-maker. You don't get to chose how you hear his music – you enter his world or you don't, that's it. And that's why individual influences, whether it's the trippy German techno that's always rippled through is albums or the beat-scene abstract hip hop that he incorporated into his DJ-Kicks mix in 2015, are all but irrelevant. Though he'd never compare himself to anyone else, Koze only makes sense in the way that other world-builders do, from Bowie to Sun Ra, Outkast to Kate Bush. And Knock Knock is far and away his greatest statement of that. It's an album that came together slowly and steadily, his working processes arcane and mysterious in their steady accumulation of sound and inspiration. It's so complete and bursting with detail and consistency from every micro-second that you'd swear it was meticulously planned – but there was no masterplan, do desire to create a definitive artefact: the record itself decided when it was ready. And now it is ready, the most perfectly constructed portal into that other world, you had better be ready too!

Sedef is in her mid 20s and she has been a resident DJ of Schwarzes Schaf (RIP). In her sessions she shows us her passion for music, while picking up tracks from most current House to Techno.
